Fight Club, The Narrator (Edward Norton’s Character)
I used the same principle as Marla with pencils, chalks and inks. I did experiment with the colour schemes though, as you can see in the example below. After much back and forth I decided to go with a colour scheme similar to Marla’s as it was less jarring and it made them work better as a set. I actually preferred the first finished Narrator as an individual image, as you can see as it actually portrayed his lack of sleep and general demise into Tyler.
Fight Club (Marla)
As part of my cult movie collection a few people requested I produce a Fight Club set. As I specialize in portraits I decided to produce a set of the three main characters. I wanted to produce drawings just using pencils, inks and chalks, before cleaning the drawings up. I tried using colours that were more mellow and psychedelic. For Marla I used some of colours schemes she wore in the film. I started with pencil drawings and finished with the inks and chalks.
Fight Club, Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt’s Character)
Once again for the final image I used my pencils, inks and chalks. However I didn’t experiment as much with the colour schemes as the other two within the set. Rather than have the colours exactly the same as Marla and The Narrator, I made the colours slightly more contrasting and decided on Red and Blue, to display his hot and cold side towards Marla, and his split personality. The great thing is the image still sits well within the middle of the set.
